Graphite electrodes: The price of graphite electrodes dropped slightly this week. The falling raw material prices are difficult to continue to support the cost of electrodes, and the demand side continues to be unfavorable, and it is difficult for companies to maintain firm quotations. Specifically, the low-sulfur coke market is no longer strong in the previous period, and the market transaction performance is mediocre. The main refinery quotations continue to decrease; the focus of negotiation for coal tar pitch continues to drop as the buyer continues to hold down prices; the price of needle coke is currently relatively strong. However, in terms of the overall raw material end, the cost support is insufficient in the early stage. On the supply side, under the influence of environmental protection policies and production restrictions in the Winter Olympics, enterprise production continues to be restricted, and the electrode production cycle is long, and it is difficult to improve the short-term shortage of small and medium-sized resources; but the demand is also weak, and the production of steel mills is also restricted. In addition, the raw materials in the early stage still exist, and the demand for electrode procurement remains weak. Source: Metal Mesh
